PC Adventure Games - Classifying all PC Games Together
By: Richard Martens Posted on June 12th, 2008 under PCI mean what the heck! Why do we need to give any video game more than one or two (maybe three for some of them) genres? It not only seems to be a waste of time to decide how many each game belongs too, but it also seems a waste of breath to say all those words.
So in response I am now adopting what I refer to as the single genre video game classifications system, or the S.G.V.G.C.S for short. Yep from now on I will not have to spend agonizing amounts of time trying to make sure my gamer lingo is hip and up to date. That is right, I have decided to buck all custom convention and say all PC games will now be in one genre.

This all encompassing genre will now be referred to as PC adventure games. No more puzzle RPG action shooter. No more Midevil strategy first person simulation. Nope, with three simple words I have now made classifying every PC game a breeze.
I can already hear some of you groaning, but before you do finish hearing what I have to say. According to the dictionary the word Adventure means and exciting or unusual experience. Now all of you who think I am wrong, point out one single PC game that does not fit that description. You can’t, it is actually impossible.
In order to play a game at all, you have to do or perform a have an experience. If you liked the game it was exciting, if you didn’t like the game it was unusual. So therefore my new single genre system is perfect. Now if you will please excuse me I have a PC adventure game to go play.

I do miss those Doom 1 and Wolfenstein classics… thanks for making me reminisce.
