Lets face it, the PS2 is dead. Well not exactly dead, but it will be soon. Sure there will probably be used games sold at the major game chains for a while yet, but as far as new games. Nope, not for much longer. It makes sense though. After all, Sony does want to sell Playstation 3’s and the only way to get some of us off the PS2 is to stop putting out games for it.

Anyway this thought dawned on me the other day, that soon, all the games for the PS2 that will ever be made will be made. While that is sad in its own special way it actually makes a unique opportunity. If you are thinking we can start destroying the PS2’s out there with wild abandon, then you are way off.

The unique opportunity I am talking about is the fact that someone, probably someone with almost no life, will now be able to compile a complete list of all PS2 games.

The EyeToy Box. Games can optionally come with an Eye Toy included.

Now me personally, I don’t know if this is really necessary, or even really all that useful. I am sure that maybe someday some historian might want to know this information, but really, I know I don’t. The main reason I don’t really care if this is ever done is because, to be frank, there are several games I would actually be totally happy to forget ever existed. If you don’t believe me, then you have been a much luckier person than me.

If you want proof go to any store that sells used games and look at the bargain rack, you know the one, the one where every game there is on sale for under five dollars. You can not expect me to believe you actually enjoyed playing any of those games.

I am kind of ashamed to admit this, but the last time I thumbed through one of those bargain racks, I saw some titles I had actually bought. However I was not in the slightest bit surprised that they wound up there. So yeah, I know someone either will, or probably has, taken the time to make the list. I have to admit that I admire their will power. However in the end, I don’t know if this is something I will ever look for.
